Scratched Rear Bumper through the paint, not worth fixing

I recently messed up my back bumper by scraping it against a cement pole that I didn't see while trying to maneuver in a narrow back alley in Toronto. Luckily, other then a small scratch on the actual body just above the bumper, it was fully on the bumper itself. I had it quoted by a couple different people who are telling me it will be anywhere from $1500 to $2000 to fix of which 75% of that is labor. I'm not exactly sure what they were going to do to fix it but I'm also guessing that they wouldn't repair it to exactly 100%.

I know there are some threads on here about similar situations but I'm thinking I'm probably better off buying a new bumper whether it's OEM or aftermarket. I guess what I'm trying to figure out is what are my options for aftermarket rear bumpers. I've found some on the internet but they'll probably require a full body kit or else it will look complete.

Any suggestions?

Post up pictures of the damage.

Even having the bumper reconditioned and completely resprayed shouldn't cost that much. Did you damage the metal supports behind it too?

sounds BS, I got into an accident where a nissan pathfinder rear-ended me, my bumper had a huge dent and my trunk was a little misaligned... either way much more damage than a pole can do. And that was only like $800 to fix, that includes the bumper and paint

Similar thing happen to me. And it was not worth it fixing it up. So I just went with aftermarket ED rear. Which turned out to be less and new instead of having a rebuilt OEM bumper. Im a be dropping the car off this week and post pics when its out.

I'm on the road right now with no accessibility to a camera but I'll try to get a picture this week.

I definitely knew there must be something up with these shops quoting me. I've had some buddies set me up with some more trusted people so I'm hoping to get quotes from them early this week.

If I were to get one of the extreme dimensions bumpers how much would paint and mounting cost keeping in mind that I really don't have any time and would be taking it somewhere to get it done.

my Stillen front fascia had 2 big holes on each side of the grill after cutting out the bars. the body shop patched the holes, and painted the bumper for $150 or $160

I'm actually in Burlington but I work downtown so it's definitely not out of my way.

That would be great if you could hook me up with his info.

Much appreciated man.
